Privacy Policy

Information We Do Not Collect

Technichor does not receive your PST archives, folder hierarchy, search indexes, message content, attachments, contacts, IMAP credentials, or usage history through PST Office. The app does not include advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or cross-app tracking.

Local Files and Processing

PST Office reads archives that you choose using the standard macOS file picker. The source PST is treated as read-only and is never rewritten. The app creates a local catalog in your Mac’s cache directory so it can display folders and messages, search headers, and reuse prepared message-content searches. This catalog is derived from your archive and is not uploaded to Technichor.

Opening an attachment may create a temporary local copy. EML files, MBOX exports, VCF contact files, PDFs, and extracted attachments are written only to destinations you choose. These operations do not modify the original PST file.

When PST Office Uses the Network

App Store purchase verification

When PST Office is distributed through the Mac App Store, it uses Apple StoreKit to verify that the app was acquired from the App Store. Apple may process information according to Apple’s Privacy Policy. Technichor does not receive your archive content through this verification.

IMAP account discovery

When you enter an email address in the IMAP restore screen, PST Office may send only the domain portion after the @ symbol to Mozilla’s Thunderbird autoconfiguration service at live.mozillamessaging.com. This lookup suggests a secure IMAP hostname and port. Your password and message content are not sent to that service.

IMAP restore

If you choose to restore messages, PST Office connects directly to the IMAP server you configure. It sends your username, password, and the selected messages or complete archive to that server so it can perform the restore. Connections use TLS and verify the server certificate.

You can choose to remember an IMAP account. Its password is stored in the macOS Keychain, not in a Technichor account or server. Forgetting the account in PST Office removes the saved Keychain credential.

Remote images in email

Remote images are blocked by default. If you choose Display Images for a message, or enable Always Display Images, the image hosts referenced by that email can receive normal web-request information such as your IP address and user agent. This may tell a sender that you opened the message.

External links

Links you activate in a message are opened by macOS in your default browser. The destination site will receive information according to its own privacy policy.

Email Preview Safety

HTML previews use a nonpersistent web data store with JavaScript disabled. Scripts, frames, forms, embedded objects, refresh directives, event handlers, unsafe JavaScript links, and remote-image sources are removed before display. Remote images are added back only after you grant permission.

These controls reduce unwanted tracking and active web behavior, but they cannot make every message, attachment, or destination link trustworthy.

Data Retention

Technichor does not operate a cloud service that stores PST Office archive data. Local catalog files, temporary attachment copies, exported files, app settings, and optional Keychain credentials remain under your control on your Mac and are subject to macOS storage and cleanup behavior.

If you contact us for support, we receive the information you choose to include in that request. Do not send private mailbox content unless it is necessary and you are comfortable sharing it.

Children’s Privacy

PST Office is not directed to children under 13, and Technichor does not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when PST Office or its network behavior changes. The effective date at the top identifies the latest version.
